What Does A Children’s Eye Test Involve?
When your child attends Spex.Optometrist for their children’s eye test, Blackburn parents can expect the following:

- Retinal Imaging and Autorefractor Testing. In basic terms, we will check the back of your child’s eye for any abnormalities. We also use a machine called an autorefractor to estimate your child’s specific prescription for glasses by checking how their eyes adjust to images at different distances.
- Vision Testing. Once we have completed these tests, we ask your child to read text or describe the clarity of items of varying sizes at different distances. Based on this we can craft a customised prescription lens.
- Outcome. We craft and fit their glasses if required, and they’re ready to be the hottest tot on the playground!
